Oh sweet jesus. I was over at Victrola today. And I had some of the most amazing Ethiopian Coffee I've ever had. They had been cupping roaster samples from the
First Ethiopian Coffee Auction. They had done the cupping about 20 minutes ago, so when I had some they were all about room temp, so it was more liquering than cupping.
Even cold, this coffee stood out as incredibly amazing. The
Koke Co-Operative unwashed Organic Yirgacheffe. This coffee was simply stunning. Unlike any Yirgacheffe I had ever had, this coffee tasted like an even better Harrar. I was simply blown away by the overwhelming sweetness and smoothness of the coffee, even after sitting for 20 minutes. It had simply the most beautiful, completely round blue taste to it, it was completely ravishingly blueberry. This coffee was astoundingly clean and crisp, especially for an unwashed Yirg, and was just simply delightful. I would kill for a pound of this stuff, or even for the chance to cup it while hot.
Yummm.
