Spain had promised dessert and so he made sure that his dessert, a rich and creamy pan of flan, was perfect before he made his way to France's house to have dinner. He had to do the transport of his bounty very carefully as, while the flan was firm, it would not do to have the syrup run all over the ground before he even got to his friend's house. There was actually a point at which Francis got sick of his own voice. Most people would have thought that it was simply an impossibility, as Francis was one of the most vainglorious, ego-centric countries that had ever come to exist. A little chuckle even accompanied the end of it. A sunny day, light, happy music, a cheerful friend grinning at him, and a nice meal. If Francis could do this all the time, cast away his worries concerning his government, do away with his daily routine of getting out of bed only to have to deal with a diplomatic and bureaucratic nightmare, he wouldn't even think twice before accepting that most generous offer. It was all right though, Francis reasoned, because if he was this cheerful everyday, it would become his functional norm, and he would not be able to appreciate it to its fullest extent. So with a hum and a turn, Francis was returning back to his cooking supplies
