It was actually one of the cooler days of summer, the heat not so oppressive as it could be. If it was, you probably won't find Spain walking around so cheerfully. True, he was sweating quite a bit, the classically cut suit he wore (courtesy of course by Romano) wasn't exactly the perfect outfit for such a hot day, but it couldn't be helped. Spain just came from a short meeting with his boss and of course he had to look very presentable. No worn down jeans and old t-shirt for the occasion. Now that he was free though, he was now carefully dismantling the facade of the work drone, slipping out of his jacket, removing his tie and pocketing it, and rolling up his sleeves. Thank goodness he was now in Romano's house or else he would be getting looks for sure. His people were far too formal and conservative with the way they dress

hurray~ and I'm sorry it took me more than a week ;;tomatoamorMay 3 2011, 02:57:07 UTC
Well, he was more than through watching those kids have fun. Maybe he'd go back home and start on dinner - or maybe he'd have dinner with one of the families near his home. Their doors were always open to him, and he knew that they would have liked him to stay for just one more bite or one more conversation. He wasn't expecting a guest at his own home, much less someone he knew personally.
And yet, just as Romano turned to walk back, there was a person he knew for as long as he could remember. Spain looked just as good as he knew he would in that suit (or he better had, the damn thing was meant to be flattering and not some stupid thing that would fall apart at the seams at a moment's notice!!). He started towards him and greeted him as usual - a quick kiss on each cheek, that was more like cheeks bumping against each other, as uncoordinated as he was. He wore his frown as usual, but had forgotten the kids in favor of getting Spain's attention.
It's no problem ^^si_espanaMay 3 2011, 03:09:01 UTC
Spain's smile brightened even more when Romano approached him and greeted him in his own special way. He laughed at the question, softly.
"I just came by for a visit. I didn't feel like having dinner alone, so here I am~" And it was the truth. There had been too many days since he's had dinner with someone and he always did prefer to dine with others. Dinner just wasn't as delicious without company.
Romano looked over Spain's appearance, as if to make sure for himself that what he said was true. Whatever he found in Spain's appearance seemed to satisfy him enough for Romano to simply shrug his shoulders and turn back to the kids playing their game

Spain would have been touched to know how concerned Romano is about him. It's probably good for Romano that he has no idea. Otherwise, he would have been squealed over and practically glomped right there in the middle of the street. And then it's Romano's childhood all over again with the embarrassing squealing and the cooing and the hugging. Surely Romano wouldn't want that, especially out in public. Thank goodness Spain isn't a mind reader.
It does make Spain extremely happy when Romano invites him to stay the night. Green eyes come alight with his bright smile. "You'll let me stay? Oh, thank you Roma~ I am kind of tired already, you know? I wasn't able to take a proper siesta today." Getting mugged doesn't worry him much, but it's probably safer and a lot less more hassle to just stay with Romano for the night. And besides, it would be just like old times! Spain does like a good sleep over. He follows Romano towards his home, chattering about nothing and everything as usual.
Sorry >_<;; it wasn't finished...tomatoamorMay 25 2011, 00:04:33 UTC
It's a good thing Spain can't. Romano would have been far too embarrassed and Spain would find himself sleeping in a shed right outside Romano's home. Though he'd wake up in the morning to find a blanket wrapped around him and a sleepy henchman who was too lazy to move from his watchful post. But that was neither here nor now.
"You're always tired!" but now he was truly concerned about Spain. The other hadn't taken a proper siesta? Where ever he was before (a meeting, by the looks of his clothing) must have really drained him and on top of that all of his other worries... Romano half-listened to Spain's rambling, already having a good idea of what the other was talking about despite his wandering attention.
"But today is for official business!" Spain insists as he continues to trail after Romano, avoiding running children as they ran past him and Romano on the street. "My Boss wanted to go over the reforms with me today, so Pepito and I were working on reviewing and organizing everything! Then there was the meeting of course."
Oh Pepito, Spain's poor, overworked assistant. He assists and oversees most everything that Spain, the Nation, could possibly be involved in. His work, his properties, his schedule, even Spain's laundry whenever the flighty Nation forgets about it. His name is actually Jose, but when Spain learns that his childhood nickname is "Pepito," the poor man is just done for. Now Spain calls him Pepito all the time and the name stuck. It doesn't matter that Pepito is a tall, well-built specimen of Spanish masculinity. He'll always be Pepito to Spain and Pepito he will always be until he leaves Spain's service.
