Woman from Time Inc. HR finally called me back today (after three weeks of ignoring my phone messages), held her little pre-interview, and told me that she would contact me if they needed me to come for an interview. So, good, I hope.
The backstory: A nice lady at Fortune was talking to me about journalism, and the getting-into thereof. She passed on a tip about a job and forwarded my resume to the HR lady. The HR lady called me two weeks ago (which I missed while I was in tutoring). I called her back four times over the past two weeks. No response. I get an email today from the original Fortune-woman, to whom I relate my struggles in actually getting beyond the HR-woman's message machine. HR woman calls me within 20 minutes of sending this email.
Also waiting to hear about possible summer internship at NY Mag. More finger crossing shall ensue.
