the evening [or afternoon, i guess] started out well enough, with sirius coming over with the intention of making up for last weekend. for a while, draco and sirius were on their best behavior, but some griping and niggling started during dinner, so draco took emma to inspect the flower beds to avoid a real argument.
which is when draco discovered that the new car--harry's bday present--was damaged. and then all hell broke loose for a while. draco yelled at harry in
huge bold letters about nearly getting himself killed, and in generally, seemingly overreacted completely. but considering what's been going on, i'm not sure if i'd really call it that...sure, only the mirror broke off the car but it probably confounded all the worrying about draco these past few weeks.
as it turned out, it wasn't harry who'd been driving at the time, but sirius, which of course opened another can of worms: a) harry had lied to draco about that and b) sirius drove the car, which was a very personal gift, after all.
at one point, harry got so fed up with the arguing and accusations that he retreated to the house, and to the bathroom, to be precise. draco followed, and for a while, the two of them yelled at each other some more through the closed door. draco was the one who was trying to mend things first, and when the conversation somehow led to zabini and harry was getting increasingly upset, draco exploded the door [a combo of wild magic and force...?].
harry was
a total mess after that, and all the uncertainties and doubts about what happened on july 4 came out. "came out" is an understatement, really. i'd say "exploded" but that doesn't match harry's state of mind [the wibbling over not being able to protect draco, or james, and having flashbacks upon seeing draco's injured hand]. draco was doing his best to calm harry down, but i think that harry might need a potion to really be able to relax [and having his children close, as he requested].
or in short, wahhh!
