I literally jumped out of my seat when I saw that the sequel to Precipice was posted, seeing as that's one of my favourite fics EVER. I was on it like Harry on Draco.Harry was trying so hard to be a pillar of strength for Draco, while being terrified himself. He's going to have to take care of a (hopefully...) newborn Holly as well as Draco, who will need quite a bit of attention after his ordeal. Even with the help of Hermione and Neville, they're still in hiding and will still have an extremely difficult time of it. Like Draco said before, when Holly was inside him, he could be sure she was relatively safe but now... it's a whole new ballgame. Wow, you don't make it easy on them, do you? I'm really wondering how they'll manage

yes, that's very true. all of it :). harry probably hasn't quite realized what's headed towards him, but he will soon. it's going to be a whole different ballgame indeed...

there were some obstacles in their way, or they would have been there much sooner. so technically the next time harry and draco really need help [well, if that should be the case], hermione and/or neville will get there faster. hmm, i think that one of the reasons why hermione led harry and draco to the hospital is the idea that worse comes to worse, they could sneak someone into st.mungo's.

heh, i know what you mean! sometimes i can only say "omgomg" after finishing a story, but then after a while, i manage to leave a coherent comment :).

i think if you boiled down this scene to its essentials, it was very simple. draco is in pre-labour and harry is worried. whereas the last part had so much action and outer elements and breached wards and last minute portkeying. a lot of external vs intimate stuff. that's what i meant by the "changing" of the tension.

but what i absolutely LOVED was that, i had to get through reading and take a deep breather before i could pare down this part to that one sentence. you managed to convey so much tension with draco's pacing and harry's worry. and their rather ineffectual ways of internalizing their fear, that i was completely gripped. it felt like a lot was happening and that i thought was particularly nice. a great way to keep the arc but still make each part stand out.

oh yeah, that's how i see it, too. i also wanted this to have a cut-off-from-the-world vibe, like harry and draco are really alone in this very challenging and scary situation.

yay! that's so wonderful to hear. i definitely aimed for an increase of tension and desperation throughout the chapter even though everything also kind of slows down until the moment when hermione and neville show up.

I was so excited to see an update! That was really intense--I kept forgetting to check on my food cooking in the kitchen, heh.

I really liked the sense of isolation and Draco's request for it to just be the two of them for a little longer. There are a lot of mpreg labor scenes out there, and most of them are rather melodramatic and unsatisfying, but this one was excellent--very in-character, poignant scenes between the two of them, left me on the edge of my seat. They had the right amount of pre-labor jitters as well, I think. I really enjoyed it and can't wait for more.

thanks so much for your kind words! i was really wibbling over writing draco in labor because it's indeed a fine line between the intense and the melodramatic :). i did quite a bit of research for the scene, and i think that helped. i'm so glad you thought it was suspenseful--that was def. my intention.
