merry_smutmas round-up

please, indulge me! feel free to add why you think i wrote that particular fic :).

Poll smutmas guess

~~~~~~
also, in an effort to make a few guesses as to who wrote what for smutmas, i went through everything i read, and here are my favorites.
a qualification: i read mostly h/d [duh!] but not the darker pieces; i haven't read "reprieve" or "a very long misadventure" yet because those are long and i haven't gotten around to them yet.
for your own personal amusement, i added my guesses for the author :).
ETA 01/04/06 with correct authors.
harry/draco:
geoviki wrote practising the same religion.
this is the fic written for me, and i just have to rec it again. i also correctly guessed who wrote this for me, but i can't tell you yet :). i still can't believe someone wrote mpreg for me!!! as i said in my review, i love the set-up of this story. it's amazingly well thought out, and completely convincing. i can absolutely see draco making this decision just as much as i can see harry acting the way he does. it was wonderful to see how they slowly find to one another, and are rewarded for their decisions at the end.
~~
silentauror wrote hot chocolate ETA: i got this one right, yay!
one of the first fics posted this year, this story focuses on an encounter between harry and draco in an abandoned bunker in the middle of the war. i was sure that this wouldn't have a happy ending, and hence was wibbling through the entire fic, but then... :).
a night at the ministry was written by maeglinyedi
it irks me beyond belief that i can't figure out who wrote this because i adored this fic!! as i said in my review, this is lighthearted storytelling at its very best. harry and draco meet up at a boring ministry party shortly after the war, find unexpected common ground, and engage in many naughty things :). most amusing is utterly!drunk!harry's diligent effort not to tell draco that he has a penis. heh.
~~
the strelsau waltz was written by ellid
a story with a fairy tale feel--draco and narcissa have escaped to eastern europe during the war and draco is to be married to secure a new family fortune. with the help of a spell, he's supposed to meet his future bride at the christmas ball, but things don't go quite as planned :).
~~
furiosity did not write boxing day; yeats did.
i'll just c&p from my review because it sums up how i feel about this:
i have to admit that i was so confused at the beginning that i almost stopped reading, but i was curious to see where this was going, and i'm glad i stuck with it. i rather liked what happened at harry's flat later on in the story, and even though i had a few questions, they didn' detract from my enjoyment of those scenes one bit :). i adore that harry can't get a coherent sentence out--that seemed very real to me. i love the ending.
~~
this is a totally wild guess, and turns out to have been really wrong. emmagrant01 did not write The Death of a Soul, A Blowjob Beneath a Table, and the Rain of Toads That Follow, but phaballa did.
a very funny future fic in which harry works in law enforcement and crosses paths with draco one day. much talk about snorting doxy dust and the abomination that is checkered shirts ensues. oh, and said bj under the table of course :).
~~
malfoy manner was written by legomymalfoy.
fluff at its best :). harry is assigned to protect draco until draco can testify at upcoming death eater trials, and hence moves into malfoy manor for a few weeks. as these things go, harry falls for draco :). features a wonderful scene in which harry and draco retrieve a christmas tree on the manor grounds as well as the best line ever by hermione.
~~
la langue was written by wordplay.
draco is away in france and harry pines terribly. a clever new development in magical development allows harry and draco to stay in touch over the long distance, and just when harry thinks he can't take it anymore...well, you'll have to read for yourselves :).
other pairings:
anise_anise wrote with worldly hands. ETA: right again :).
harry/sirius, and so so dirty. *facepalms*
~~
hydaspes did not write of fertility and falsehood, elucreh did. to my defense, hydaspes wrote one of the stories i hadn't read at that point.
remus/snape, which i normally wouldn't read, but hey, it has talk of mpreg in it, so i had to check it out :).
ETA: on second thought, maybe hydaspes didn't write this. if she had, she might not have foregone latin for italian... hmmm.
~~
and that's it!
if you feel there are fics i missed and definitely should read, please let me know in the comments :).
