Well.....
I just got an email, and it looks like ther person who I was commissioning my fursuit from.....is just too backed up with other commissions to even consider looking at mine for the time being.
Major bummer.
He was, in my personal opinion, one of the best fursuit builders, for the cost of his suits.
Unfortunately, this leaves me in a sad spot. I have about two or three other builders that I really like .... unfortunately .... they've either got massive waiting lists pending ..... that/and or their prices are way out of my league.
This pretty much means I'm shit out of luck as far as commissioning a partial (this is all I have hope of obtaining now) from a builder that has work I'm familiar with.....and more importantly....that I like.
Which leaves me considering my dwindling options. I've already emailed a few other fursuit builders, those who have built suits that I like, and hopefully one of them will be able to take on this project and finish it in time.
I'm not going to allow myself the luxury of optimism, and right now I'm preparing myself for the worst.
If this course of action doesn't work out, I just may commission another individual, even if I'm not overly familiar with their work. Hopefully, I won't have to entertain this prospect. In the long run ... I may end up deciding against this rather desperate fancy. In my opinion, fursuits are too expensive to just commission without giving the builder/artist enough thought. I really think you should get what you pay for, and unfortunately, I've heard scary stories of people being dissatisfied with what they purchase.
I do not wish to become one of them.
My last option .... do what I did last year. It could work. I've got enough fur, and the know how to make an improved partial. I'm not sure if I will have enough time though.
I'm going to give myself a week to find someone to make my partial, otherwise, I'm just going to end up making it myself.
