Far more has happened than my lackadaisical livejournalling can keep up with. Miranda now walks (and can practically run), babbles (big time!), waves bye-bye (sometimes, anyway), points to food she wants to eat or things she wants to look at (wall clocks are a favorite), was an angel on our plane trip down to CA (Santa Cruz, SLO (via Hwy 1!), and Santa Barbara), bade farewell to Kinako (who returned to Japan in June), spent a month playing with (well, near, really) other kids in daycare, had
birthday visits from grandparents, took right to our new au pair, Lidia, from Bolivia, was a road-trip champ during our ludicrously long car trip to Dunsmuir (10(!) hours - each way, and yes,
perkyevil and I are insane), met much of my maternal menagerie, and is on track to become a big sister in mid-October.
!!!
She also had a very successful first trip to the pool:
As can be the case at
Cave Springs, the water really couldn't be called "warm". Mom cut the swim short when Miranda started shivering, to much protesting and "pointing" to go back in the pool. Adorable.
