rainy morning jogs

i like the rain.
i just don't like that it rains too much and the ground gets too soggy to run on.
the rain also makes it harder for me to run in the mornings because for the past four days the mornings have had the most rainfall.

anwyays because of the rain i go to run in edinburg at some park on doolittle road and raul longoria. my dad decided to go with me over there because he didn't want some stranger to ambush me while i was running. i didn't really want him to go because 1. its too early and i'd rather he stay asleep and rest 2.i'd been doing it for two days so whats the big deal? 3. i like being independent and takin care of myself.

however after my hour run today while i was stretching i look over to my dad. he's sitting underneath a little canopy and it had just started to rain harder. but he's still sitting there ignoring the rain and patiently waiting for me.

who else--what dad--would actually wake up early in the morning to take their daughter out to rain, and then to wait an hour and half for her to finish?

it was then that i realized that i have a wonderful dad, and that i would miss him the most when i leave for houston. he's done so much for me, even when i behave like a brat, especially for my running. he is my #1 supporter and always goes to see me, doing whatever he could to help me run faster.

i love my dad, and i don't know how i'll be able to live if something awful were to happen to him. I can onlyhope that i can pay him back someday and make him extremely proud of me.
