state qualifer with a time of 11:26 in 3200
friday april 25th, all of my hard work, all the sacrifices, all the sweat, and patience i put in the whole 4 years, especially this past one, made everythin worth me finishing 2nd in the 3200m. i am going to state!
even now as i type away with shaking hands, an uneasy breath, and lump in my throat, all the feelings of finishing as a state qualifier, flood back into my blood.
my jelly legs could not hold me after i finished, and that was by far the best feeling in the world. i wanted to fall to the ground and thank the Lord that i did it but i held myself up high and walked over to the edge of the stadium where my parents were sitting. as soon as i reached them, i broke down and let all the relief and hapiness escape me as i cried out to my dad: i did it, i did it. right then and there, we both cried together. it was like he'd won too.
its so unbelievable gratifying to know now that hard work and dreams do come true.
i have two more amazing weeks left ahead of me, with more workout, early mornings, and soreness. i wouldn't have it any other way though.
like i said before....i love this sport.

fyi: i won prom queen yesterday...and i didn't even have to attend. lol. this was the best weekend ever.
