A "Thank You!" fic for Mio

Here is a little fic for Mio (aka, osoruosoruosoru) for giving me some paid time... Hope you like it, Mio-san!

Wataru paused for a moment, putting the stick down as he rubbed his forehead. I'm still confused about them, he thought, leaning back against the tree trunk. It's one thing to love Mio-san, but...Ryoutarou-san as well? How...when did I first fell in love with him? It couldn't be that one time with the mistletoe...

"Ahh! Triagle!"

Wataru looked up at the newcomer, who was grinning over the design in the dirt: a circle with "Wataru" on top, connected to two circles below with "Ryoutarou" above the right one and "Mio" on the left one. There were various writings next to each of the lines, things like "Fellow Rider" for Ryoutarou and "cute and shy" for Mio.

The stranger pointed to the design and asked, "Is this your triangle?"

"Yes...yes, it is..."

"But it's not complete," the other man added, pouting thoughtfully.

"Eh? C-Complete?"

The newcomer nodded in confirmation. "Mn! Complete triangle! It's the best kind of triangle--like mine!" He added with a big grin. "I got the best triangle ever!"

"Could...could you show me? Your triangle..." Wataru offered his stick.

"Okay! I'll draw my best triangle for you!" The other man eagerly took the stick and quickly sketched out three circles, all connected together. "This one is Retsu; he's 'technique'--always thinking about stuff. This one is Ran; she's 'heart'--Honest Heart. And that's me, Jan! Kandou Jan! I'm 'body'--Unbreakable Body! We're triangle!"

Wataru carefully traced the lines linking the three circles. "So...the three of you are together?"

"Uh-huh! And now that Ran's here, we're gonna get married!"

"...M-Married? The three of you?"

"Yeah! It'll be the best waki-waki wedding!"

Wataru clearly looked confused. "Waki...waki?"

"Waki-waki!" Jan echoed, smiling proudly. But then, he suddenly looked worried and got to his feet, looking around and muttering, "Zowa-zowa...there's zowa-zowa nearby."

"Zowa-zowa?" Wataru also got to his feet. "Trouble?"

Jan nodded. "Stay here." And before Wataru could protest, Jan took off looking for the source of the "zowa-zowa".

Wataru sighed. "I can defend myself now...I'm not weak--" His eyes then lit up, and he knelt before his own drawing. "If I'm the 'body'--strength--then, Ryoutarou-san... He's 'heart'. He's always putting other people's needs and safety over his own. And he never stops trying, even though his lucks terrible. And Mio-san...she must be 'technique'--mind. She's been wondering how to improve things and try to make things better for everyone..."

After a moment, he picked up the stick again. "Maybe...just maybe..." He drew a line connecting "Ryoutarou" with "Mio". "Well, they do get along well with each other...and Ryoutarou-san has always been supportive of trying to work things out in a peaceful manner, so...maybe--"

"LOOK OUT!!!"

"Ehhh?" Wataru stood up...just in time to be slammed into by a woman on a bike. Both of them went tumbling down the hillside until they boy landed on top of the bike in uncomfortable positions.

"I'm sorry; I realy should've been--" The woman stopped as she got a good look at him. "...Wataru-san?"

"Mio-san! Are you okay?"

"Yes...yes, I think so. Are you?"

"Yeah...I'll be fine."

"Mio-san! Wataru-san!" Both looked up to see a flailing Ryoutarou running down the hill towards them. "Are you both okaa--ahhaaaahhhhh!!" His foot tripped over a jutting rock, causing him to tumble the rest of the way down.

"Ryoutarou-san!" Wataru stood to try and catch his friend...but ended up falling on his back again, this time with said friend on top.

"Ahh, Wataru-san! I'm sorry. Are you okay?"

"I-I'm fine...I think," Wataru murmured. "Are you okay, though?"

"I...I'll be fine..."

"I'm really sorry, Ryoutarou-san, Wataru-san," Mio said with a bow. "I...I forgot how to use the brakes, and...I'm sorry."

"No, no, it's okay, Mio-san," Ryoutarou tried to reassure her as he got off of his companion. "Sometimes I forget to use the brakes myself."

"Really?"

"Yeah...it's an easy mistake to make when you're upset or hurt."

"Ohhh...for a moment, I felt like an idiot..."

"No, no--you're not an idiot..."

"...Isn't that your bike, Ryoutarou-san?"

"Ah, yes, it is. I'm teaching Mio-san how to ride a bike."

"I thought it might be best to learn, since there is talk of campers getting their own bicycles soon..."

"Ah, that is a good thing to learn, if that is true."

"Actually, she was doing okay until she hit that bump in the road. She was really getting the balance and not wobble so much--"

"I wasn't doing that good, really..."

"No, no--you really were getting the hang of it..."

Wataru smiled as Mio tried to remain humble and Ryoutarou tried to praise her even more. It was wonderful to see them so willing to help each other and get along so well. Maybe someday, in the future, the three of them could form their own triangle.

But today? Today, Wataru decided to help Ryoutarou teach Mio how to ride a bike.
