Life has been busy since Cathy's back. We're all very anxious as the lab tests are not performing well despite being optimized by our collaborator. I'm actually concerned that the early preparation step of extracting DNA is the problem, since we've been using a commercial kit instead (from a less-than-reputable, banana republic company instead of the one our collaborator advised). Of course, I'm actually waiting for the real shipment of stuff to come. But then, I really wonder whether we'll get it in time before CNY. 5 months more before thesis presentation (and 3 months before our self-imposed finishing time). I'm going nuts.

Just received a new queen-sized bed last week *glee* and had fun setting it up myself. But then, I'm still waiting for a new mattress. In the mean time, I'm using two single mattresses. Am now planning to buy new furniture and other stuff from IKEA. I want:
4x shelves
2x curtain rails
2x wire curtains
4x curtains
2x cupboards
And I'm drooling over a voronio shelf


Wonder if we can get/make one here.

There's a prose competition which ends on the 31st Jan. I'm still mulling over what to write. Theme is pretty much "The contrast between dark and light in a KL urban setting."

And FINALLY, Sweeney Todd is in the cinemas. Just released here today! I'm heading downtown to watch it at 4.30pm. *excitement*
