I was at a Halloween party with Bean last night, so hubby manned the front door and the candy bowl. It was a clear and cool Saturday night, but we still only had 50 people come to the door. I blame the World Series, which all the adults were watching at the Halloween party.

Hubby and I also went to
mijan's and
fiona_fawkes's annual Halloween shindig last weekend. Hubby dressed as a priest and I went as Maleficent. It was a fabulously good time, with some wonderfully creative costumes. It must be said that
fiona_fawkes mixes a wickedly strong and tasty White Russian ice cream float. It must also be said that
mijan mixes a wickedly strong and tasty mojito.
Sadly, we seem to have lost one of our cats. Amy went outside with Bruno one evening, and only Bruno came home. She always kept slipping free of her collar and wasn't wearing one when she went outside, but she is microchipped so if animal control picks her up, she's on the record. However, we haven't been contacted so I'm fearing the worst.
Now, on to the sports page! This weekend is a good time to be a fan of Kansas City sports teams. Our American football team, the Chiefs, are playing the Detroit Lions in London right now and currently mauling them 38-10. The Chiefs have been struggling this season, but seeing all the typical Arrowhead traditions being kept at Wembley has been nice. (The Chiefs are the "home" team for this match.)
Also, the Kansas City Royals are one win away from winning the World Series! If we pull it off it'll be the first championship in 30 years. The city is pumped up and everywhere you go the buildings are bathed in blue light and people are wearing royal blue.
And now it's the first of November. Time to start planning Thanksgiving dinner!
