I'm enrolled in Stats 2, one of the three remaining pre-reqs for most of the nursing/PA programs that I am looking at. Math is still not my strong suit, but the book is very good at explaining things in plain English, and my determination level is high. The various health issues that presented issues for me before are also all controlled for the most part now.
I'm working on finishing my first ever piece of garb (more accurately, the first piece that I've worked on, although not solo, from start to finish. Including buying fabric, altering patterns, learning new seams, ect). I am very pleased and proud of my little self, and will be wearing my new pretty at Midrealm 40th/Coronation the first weekend of October. Contemplating ideas for what to make for January event.
After struggling with it at Pennsic, I have finally gotten the hang of the elusive chain stitch. I've been working on and off with the Persian sampler since then, and once again am very pleased with my little self. Also learning not be so critical of myself while still in the learning phase of things.
Started up with a more regular schedule of belly dancing practice. While I'm still horribly out of shape and conditioning from before, things are good. There's several moves that I now can do that I wasn't able to do before, and my shimmy has been found again. Looking forward to having opportunities to show off!
Decided also to stop talking about it, and give fencing a chance. Dulcia was kind enough at meeting on Wednesday to show me some of the basics, show me how to put on gear, and try my hand at hitting her. Stabbing at people with swords is much more fun then I thought it would be (I knew it would be fun, but didn't know how much fun).
Overall, there's still some not-so-good things happening, but there's also a lot of good things. I'm content. And happy.
