Tim knows he's never getting out of Dillon, not anymore. He'll end up like Billy, working shit jobs for shit money, banging Tyra for as long as she'll let him and as many times as she'll take him back before she wises up for good or gets out herself. He's not holding his breath for either.
He could try harder, he thinks. Play harder, get himself recruited. There's still time. But all he really needs is beer in his fridge and gas in his truck, the circular freedom of these familiar roads and the distant, hazy glow of game lights.
