So my sister Meg Meg is performing in California for the ACDA National Convention with the Women's Choir of my former highschool. This is a pretty big deal in the choral world, annnd I couldn't be prouder of those girls. One nice side effect of this is that a lot of my music teachers decided to take off to California as well for the week, leaving me with a whole lot of free time this afternoon. Tis nice, tis very nice. (Especially because although I thought I had made a choral arranging breakthrough, turns out, I just cannot arrange for the life of me. Dr. Lang says it's nothing he can teach, choral arranging is like poetry. Why then when I am inspired to write a chord, it turns out sounding like fingernails scraped on a chalkboard as a cat wails in the distance? My poetry does not flow like that. Oh well, it just must take a little more...practice? I hope?)
We started rehearsals for A Little Night Music, and I am just so happy to be working on this show. All the people involved are absolutely wonderful. yay yay yay. Hopefully some of you faithful livejournal readers will be able to make the show in...oh my less than a month. I promise it'll be a good time :)
Did you know that in the game broomball they DONT USE REAL BROOMS?! This was a real shock to my system. But it is actually a really fun game to watch. (and watching a game is as far as I will ever get to those crazy "brooms." Ice + Sneakers + Michelle = well, I would imagine...not pretty.) I'd prefer just hugging the players. :) ;)
Whoa time for a little tuning fork action in choir.
Until later peaches
oh p.s. all you philosophy's out there, tell me what I mean by this you win a prize:
