Oh, hey, why have I never seen this site before?
The Fresh Loaf, for all your bread-baking neepery. (Via MeFi)
Amy Davidson on why the conservatives calling Obergefell the new Dred Scott are
so wrong. I think it would be fun to have a fic challenge that involves using the titles of
these unreported Holmes & Watson cases. Seriously, how fun would The Politician, the Lighthouse, and the Trained Cormorant be? Or The Colossal Schemes of Baron
Maupertius?
This is cool:
this video shot by a Go-Pro on the back of a sea turtle. Nice piece on the Mary Sue about Jane the Virgin and the way the love triangle played out during S1.
This article about the history of the Confederate flag (properly the flag of the Army of Northern Virginia) ends on a surprisingly optimistic note. Skygiants does us an amazing favor by summarizing
Volume 1 of the Fionavar Tapestry, The Summer Tree by Guy Gavriel Kay. She takes the piss in a fabulous way:
PAUL: Sorry about your draught, dude. I get it; I have a drought inside my heart.
KEVIN: You know, buddy, I know you're sad about your dead girlfriend, but you could just cry it out --
PAUL: I CAN NEVER CRY.
Oh, and ALSO, courtesy of Skygiants,
the trailer for The Chronicles of Shannara, which looks depressingly white and derivative and which also includes (naturally) Jonathan Rhys-Davies! (Presumably he survives the first season unlike his erstwhile castmate Sean Bean?)

In other news, I have emptied out my kitchen in preparation for demolition. It's astonishing how much crap I have, after 15 years living in one place. I own too much stuff! Argh.
Also, since everything is packed away, I have no food, and dinner was a slice of pizza from the place around the corner, and some chocolate. Tomorrow I move to my sister's house, because I can't face six weeks of washing my dishes in the bathtub.
SO TIRED.
