linkspamination!

Or in other words, I found some linkspam from a few weeks ago, hope nobody notices how dated some of this is...

I remember the stories in the press about the Iroquois lacrosse team passports a while ago, but I hadn't realized they are considered one of the best teams in the world. Of course, that makes perfect sense, once you think about it. Good luck to them in this year's tournament!

In other news, here is a timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I can't actually use it at work, because of the way they've hobbled our computers, but I suppose it's informative and entertaining.

Hmm, this looks really tasty, and a lot easier than a peach pie...

Oh, San Francisco. What to do, what to do?

The New Yorker also has a lovely appreciation of Mary Rodgers, who wrote Freaky Friday. I loved that book, and A Billion for Boris, although I don't think I ever knew there was another sequel after that.

A spectacular fanvid/title sequence for the new Doctor.

I had no idea there was so much to know about mattresses. And now I am thinking seriously about these guys for my next mattress...

Transit as a regulated public utility?

The costs of invasive species management: it cost $3M to remove 59 cats from an island off the California coast.

Via MeFi: A field guide to Dopplegangers. Which is pretty awesome.

And another MeFi link: Molly Crabapple on the uses and invisibilities of political dissidents. Dissidents, like prophets, get little love in their native lands.
