Can PBS survive without a government subsidy? Considering that only about $1.35 per year of our tax dollars goes to fund PBS which allows PBS to avoid pandering to commercial interests -- against the $40, $80 or $120 dollars per month that most cable subscribers pay in order to be allowed to watch commercials -- I'd say us taxpayers are getting a hell of a bargain.

I can't find a link to it, but according to NPR today, Romney has started quoting Friday Night Lights in his speeches. Specifically, "Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose." I am affronted. OTOH, Peter Berg is pretty conservative, IIRC. And Buzz Bissinger just announced he's voting for Romney. So unless Kyle Chandler wants to make a statement about it, I guess I'll just have to suck it up. Still seems wrong, though: doesn't he understand that show is mine?
