So I have a technical problem that I'm hoping the combined wisdom of the internet can help me with.
I bought an audiobook from Audible that I was excited to listen to because it's a novel I've loved since I was in high school. I listen to audiobooks on my iPod while commuting, doing housework, walking the dog, and so forth--I spend a lot of time that way.
And at every chapter break, the playback on this book freezes, and crashes my iPod. It stops playing, the iPod controls stop working, and nothing will happen unless and until I do a hard reset on the iPod. If I try to go back to the point at which the file stopped playing, it crashes the iPod again.
I have gone through customer service and they have not been able to help me: every single format offered crashes my iPod, and I have to assume that it's a function of my six-year-old 80GB iPod. (Which until now has given me no trouble at all!)
So... is there any freeware out there that I can use to strip the chapter breaks from this file? Some fast-and-dirty conversion from an .aa file to an .mp3 file? There must be, but I can't find it.
