I'm making a Shaker lemon pie tonight. (Well, tomorrow, technically: tonight I will make the crust and slice the lemons* and put them in the sugar to do their thing overnight.)

In any event, wish me luck! Or perhaps send your good wishes to the friends who will be the testers for this maiden effort...

In other news, the annual city-wide White Elephant Sale has resulted in the first-ever purchase of modern art for my home. It's several pieces of steel and copper bolted to a plank of wood. Rather cooler than the description, but not something I would ever have predicted purchasing.

*I had to work through seven pieces of citrus to find four lemons, because my sister planted the lemon & lime trees next to one another, and so it's basically impossible to know what you have until you've sliced into them. Now I have three limes with which to make a Pisco Sour tonight (one more than necessary).
