Revealed: the capitalist network that runs the world! (And no, not a joke, sadly.)

Here's a story about how happy endings aren't, always. Because people are complicated.

Noted for later reading: Jack O'Neill put on trial for genocide. Fascinating.

A report on the much-abused Kabul museum.

Tim Gunn talks Star Trek fashion. Coolness.

Oooh, I like this idea: apple and cheddar quick bread. I might try that tonight...

I had brunch yesterday with a friend I made in my freshman year of college, lo these mumblety years ago, and whom I have only seen a handful of times since then. What was lovely was that we still had so much in common, and chatted happily about old friends, our families, the joys of Trader Joe's, books, and work, over excellent food and then during a leisurely walk through downtown San Francisco back to her hotel. Afterwards, I sent her links to a bunch of SG-1 fic recommendations. Heh.

Sometimes people mature and wander off at angles to one another, following the paths their life leads--and sometimes they keep going in the same general direction. Parallel evolution, I guess?
