I would totally buy coffee made in
this espresso machine. (Except it would have to be before 2:30 PM because any later than that and I stay up until 2 AM.)
I have to say that the world would be a better place if I had
plushy T-Rex. I'm just saying.

I'm
really quite impressed by J. K. Rowling here. Half a billion pounds, to send a message - would it not be more cost-effective, more personal, to send all the lower-income married people flowers? She has chosen to stay in Britain and pay her taxes and support the system that supported her when she was down on her luck. Good on her.
Speaking of fantasy writers, I finished Victory of Eagles last night and am seriously jonesing for more Temeraire. ::drums fingers anxiously:: Is it July 13 yet?
... what about now?
(And damn, I've gone and spoiled myself on the Amazon page. At least a little bit. Don't do that!)

In other news, if you own your home and need a new roof for your house, now might be the time: roofers around here are desperate for business after two drought years and the financial crash.
One of the advantages of the way my career has progressed over the last decade is that I am now aware of the necessity to have all the competitors quote from the same scope of work. If there's a 200% difference between one roofer's quote and another's, it's not necessarily because the higher one is trying to bilk you. It could be because the higher one wants to take the old roof down to the rafters, replace the gutters and downspouts, replace the rotting wood in the eaves, and put 40-year shingles on--and the other one only wants to lay a new set of shingles on top of what's there already. ::facepalm::
