Savage Minds today has an interesting piece on
some new research about food allergies. Apparently a recent British study found little medical evidence of food allergies in most of the people who claimed to have them. Huh.
Also in health news, the LA Times has released a comprehensive set of articles about
blood pressure.
In a complete change of pace, Wondermark today is fabulously
wacky.

SPN Gen Love is looking for
gen big bang recs for Supernatural. (I suspect they don't have to be written for Big Bangs so much as just be long gen stories.)
Abyssinia has made a Vala Mal Doran vid to
Fast Cars. I can't download it at work, so I'm saving the link for later. Vala vid! Yay!

cereta wanted Snowpocalypse snippets for Grading Hell Theater, so I ended up writing this:
Ash always warns Ellen when it looks like the weather's going to turn nasty, and the cellar under the roadhouse is always stocked with canned foods. So when he starts hollering from his stinky dank cave about the SnowMaggedon, she puts Jo to work with the shutters and makes a quick run into town for extra beer and chips. She's wrestling the last few cases of Bud long-necks through the door when the Winchesters pull up, tires skidding a bit on the icy mud of the parking lot. Dean takes the beer out of her hands and they all hustle inside, shoulders hunched, faces already stinging red from the snow driven sideways by the rising wind.

I was girding my loins this morning (metaphorically speaking) for a full-on battle against bureaucratic stupidity, but apparently I have won, before battle was even fully joined. Yay me? Or yay common sense, anyway?
