NEW SCC/SG-1: Temporary Alliances (gen)

Mar 22, 2009 22:29

Written for katie_m's birthday. Happy birthday! I'm sorry it took so long; I had to start it three times, for some reason, because it occurred to me that maybe you didn't want a story in which everyone died because Skynet won. Ahem. *g*

And, um, please pay no attention to the timeline. It's definitely meant to be a little unclear.

Man, I am just thinking that there could be some comedy gold in Cameron and Teal'c discussing those wacky earth-humans.

There really would. Unfortunately, I couldn't seem to come up with a plot that got them in the same room long enough to trust each other enough to have the conversation. The Connors and Cameron would have absolutely no reason to spend any more time than absolutely necessary with any of SG-1, and in fact would get away as soon as possible. And it's not like SG-1's going to be terribly friendly to a robot from the future.

(My first draft of the story? Had SG-1 capture Cameron in 1999 and destroy her, and then Sam survives Judgment Day, somehow realizes what happened, and tries to go back to warn herself. Not exactly a happy story.)

if you ever feel like resurrecting that draft...

Oy. See below; it will likely get posted at some point, even if unfinished.

Indeed. Although it's a real stretch to think Jack would survive Judgment Day, unless he just happened to be out of Washington that day. The original idea I had for this story had only Sam and Cam surviving for any length of time, and that not happily. Cam was kind of broken.

Awesome! I have such fondness for SG-1 and the Connor crew meeting up. And hey, if you ever felt so moved to write the story where (nearly) everyone dies fighting Skynet, why I would not object:)

Frakkin' LJ logging me out. It's a Skynet conspiracy I swear.

Well, I may eventually post the bits I wrote of the J-Day Happens, Everyone Dies story. It just seemed a poor thing to write as a gift.

This was awesome. I enjoyed O'Neill's perspective.

I love the way birthday fic is the gift that keeps on giving to everyone! This is wonderful! I love Jack's observations about Sarah, in particular. And I agree with brown_betty: Cameron + Teal'c has enormous comedic potential!
