Well, summer has arrived: I only put the down comforter away last week, and yet last night I slept without blankets and the windows open. In retaliation, my sinuses went nuts. Bleargh. Stopped at Walgreens on the way in for Claritin. Please don't be a cold, because I'm getting on a plane at o-dark-thirty Wednesday morning!
My hotel damn well better have The CW, that's all I have to say. Or I'll be aheming all Friday night courtesy of the sib's wifi.
::kicks at Claritin:: Work, damn you!

Vee has posted DVD commentary of her SPN novel
Six of One, which y'all ought to read--both the story and the commentary. Great story, excellent commentary.
sangga updated her Contretemps series (SPN: going AU from Devil's Trap) with
Arcadia. This is an excellent long story for the Sam fans, brilliant and insightful, with gorgeous prose, and oh so very sad. I suspect I'm not quite the proper audience for it, because I love the bond between the brothers, and this story is in some ways an examination of how they are different and how life could pull them apart. It's very adult, really, unsentimental and believable, and that's likely why it hurts so much. It's beautiful and well-written and I'm enough of a marshmallow that I may not reread it. (How's that for pathetic? And there's room right there for an essay about what I want from fic versus what I want from professional fiction, and my emotional investment in each...)
Writing is ... progressing. I have a lot of work to do on this thing yet, but I've got a better handle on what needs to be written now. Pity so much of that is action. It's funny: action is so much fun to read, and it reads fast, but omg it's so difficult to write. Give me two guys sitting around drinking coffee and brainstorming about monsters any day of the week. Argh.
Okay, I'm hungry and I need to go to the gym. Ta.
