The role of the Saudi Arabian cultural Bureau in Canada remains a mystery to me. I am a Saudi female who came to Canada in 2003 to specialize in Anesthesia and I must say my fear of the power of the Saudi Bureau has made me remain on a short leash, where they like to keep most of the people who are sponsored by them.
Here is why I believe the Saudi Arabian Cultural Bureau that is currently located in Ottawa, Canada is corrupt and needs to be shut down.
In 2006 a 19 year old Saudi male student in Halifax raped 3 underage girls. He was successfully arrested by the Halifax police and placed in jail only to manage to get him self out after he posted his bail for 20,000 dollars.
At this point his passport was with the Halifax local authorities yet he managed to get the Saudi Bureaus help and ended up leaving the country, How??? Is what has kept the media, the victim’s families and police enraged and seeking answers from the Saudi Bureau. Of course the Bureau with all its mighty power mainly dr Mitwalli has refused to respond to any of these questions and continues to stand his ground.
The guy is now living his normal daily life back In Saudi and Canada is in shock.
I was sexually assaulted by a Saudi Anesthesia resident during my residency training at Dalhousie University and I have brought this issue up to the attention of the Saudi bureau.
The reaction I got was 1-My funds have all been withdrawn and I am currently without any financial support here in Canada as I am sponsored by the Saudis.
2-The head of the Bureau (Dr Mitwalli) refuses to answer my questions or deal with my case in any shape or form. He keeps saying that I have caused this.
3- I have lost my residency spot and I am no longer in medicine
4-My attacker has passed his exams and is going back to Saudi to land the great position and pay he was promised.
My issue right now is in the hands of the human rights commission but I just wanted to stress on the obvious Corruption that is called the Saudi Arabian Cultural Bureau who orders all Saudis to sign a form stating they will not marry a non Saudi during their stay in Canada and help a sexual offenders leave a country with no passport and treats a woman who was sexually assaulted by one of their own like the devil.
My disgust with these educated and powerful people who abuse their power to astonishing extents has made me hate who I am and where I am from. I am embarrassed to be a Saudi and I hope that the Saudi cartel will soon get a taste of their own medicine.
