A book, too, can be a star.

♠ Ugh, I have a cold. I have been doing so well this winter, even though I have been wearing skirts or dresses every day (lol for some reason I've always felt like I am less likely to get sick if I'm wearing trousers?), and now that spring is only a few weeks away, my nose is congested, my head hurts and I've started coughing. Blergh. I REFUSE to get sick.

♦ My boss, who is awesome, has asked me to put together a rec list of all the movies I have seen at least three times because we have similar taste in movies and she loves watching her favourite movies over and over again just as I do. I wish she would give me assignments like this more often. It is so much more fun than typing up minutes or putting together reports.

♣ PENGUINS. WHY ARE THEY SO CUUUUTE??

Day 13: Favourite writer
I don't have just one favourite writer, but one of my best-loved authors is definitely Italo Calvino:

My other favourite writers include J.R.R. Tolkien, Jane Austen, Alexandre Dumas, Irvine Welsh, Sigrid Undset, Stendhal, Victor Hugo, Charlotte Brontë, Umberto Eco, Simone de Beauvoir, Anna Gavalda, ee cummings, Olav Duun, Astrid Lindgren and Neil Gaiman. And many more. I JUST LOVE BOOKS SO SO MUCH.

Day 14: Favourite book from favourite writer
This one's a tie between two of my very favourite books:

I love Invisible Cities for its poetry, its beautiful imagery and and its imagination.
I love If On a Winter's Night a Traveller because of its playfulness, its meta-themes and the elegant narration.

Day 15: Favourite male character
I have much love for many male characters in literature, but I've got a soft spot for Remus Lupin in the Harry Potter series.

Day 16: Favourite female character
Omg there are so many great female characters in literature that I could have picked but in the end I decided to go with Sugar from Michael Faber's The Crimson Petal and the White because I think she is a particularly intriguing and layered character.

Runners-up: Jane Eyre, Kristin Lavransdatter, Eowyn of Rohan, Elizabeth Bennet, Anne Elliot and Pippi Longstocking.

Day 17: Favorite quote

Everybody has a secret world inside of them. All of the people of the world, I mean everybody. No matter how dull and boring they are on the outside, inside them they've all got unimaginable, magnificent, wonderful, stupid, amazing worlds. Not just one world. Hundreds of them. Thousands maybe.
