I have decided that I'm going to every now and then write about some of my favorite memories... or not so favorite memories too... so that I'll have something to look back on and read. I guess I got kinda nostalgic when I started cleaning out my old emails... and then that got me thinking about other things and one thing lead to another... and then I guess just lately, seeing certain people again brought back more memories... also talking about things again... everything just got stirred up....
This isn't going to make much sense... I don't know why, but it's one of the funniest things that Calina and I have done that has sprung out of sheer boredom. We were sitting on the steps outside where I used to live on Azalea St... waiting for her dad to pick us up so we could go to her house. Her dad took forever and there wasn't much to do outside at my place so we started walking around looking at the little garden that my parents had. I showed her some of this grass/green onion looking stuff that wasn't grass or green onion but it was one of my favorite things to eat... some Chinese stuff that I didn't have a English translation for... I tried to explain it to her but I couldn't really... she thought it was interesting so we picked some to give to her dad. Then some how, we started calling each other "Father" and "Son," and we went around talking nonsense like, "Come here Son" "Yes Father" and that went on and on and it was just so funny but it was dumb... then we picked some kumquats (which I hate) to give to her dad... then she saw these banana looking things but they weren't bananas (what are they called?) anyways, but we couldn't reach them, so she was like, "Get up on my shoulders" and I was like, "Are you sure? What if I fall?" well, I don't know how we did it, but I ended up on her shoulders and we were trying to reach these banana things and we just couldn't stop laughing... I barely could reach one but I finally got it... so finally her dad comes and we're like, "We have all these presents for you!" so we ended up giving him some grass looking thing, some little orange looking things, and a banana thing... so then back at her place, we made her dad cook the banana thing (b/c you had to cook it in order to eat it) and then he was obligated to eat it b/c we got it for him...
Okay, that made no sense, but that's how I remember it, and to me, it was really fun... especially the whole, "Yes Father" "Come here Son" thing. :)
