a rant i think all of america should hear

So i had to sit through one of the stupidest conversations i've ever heard today, and then i heard more about it on the radio, so here's the deal, INTELLIGENT DESIGN [as a branch of science] IS DUMB!!!!

It seems all i hear is that evolution is a "theory" so it's just a guess and that anything else it just as right, and that intelligent design should be taught in science because it's a theory like anything else, right?

No that's friggin wrong. The only reason evolution is a theory in the first place is because since it's such a huge and widespread concept, it can't be tested and applied to everything, and there will always be new problems to solve with it. No one has ever, EVER, been able to do a scientific experiment or anything else that was able to show that evolution didn't work in this situation, or that it couldn't be easily explained using evolution.

Also, intelligent design isn't even a theory, it's a belief. Why you might ask? Because there is absolutely no way to scientifically test intelligent design. There is nothing to observe, there is nothing to experiment, and it can't be repeated, and those are the three fundamental things that make science science. Even if you were to teach intelligent design, what would you have to say? It'd be about a half an hour lecture and all you'd say is "well, since evolution can't be completely proven, some ppl say that an intelligent being created everything in the world". There isn't really any science you can use to back that up, and if you can think of something i'd like to know A.) what it is, and B.) if it's nearly enough to write just one book over.

And for the love of God who ever said that if evolution exists then God doesn't or vice versa? They AREN'T in opposition of each other. People make it sound like if God created anything than it would have had to be just like it is, right now, and this very moment in time. Well here's something to think about for that. You know the bird flu, the one everyone is so worried about and carries the potential to kill a twentieth of the worlds population? Well right now, it can't be passed by people, at all. And if it can't be passed by people, then only ppl who live with dirty animals can catch it. Why then is it such a big deal? Because scientists are worried that the flu virus will mutate, aka change, aka EVOLVE, into a new form of the virus capable of being spread by ppl. That's the same reason you need a new flu shot every year, because the virus evolves every year, if not more often, and you need the vaccine that can fight the new version.

So clearly evolution happens, you can watch it with a microscope and a sample of a harmless virus, so if you deny that then you're choosing not to see the obvious, undeniable truth, so go ahead and be stubborn, i pity you. And half of the ppl who do believe in evolution have no problem believing that viruses make new viruses, or that this lizard can become that bigger or smaller lizard, or that hairy dog can become the dog with almost no fur at all over time. But for some reason, ppl can't stand to believe that people were ever something other than ppl. I guess everyone likes to think that humans are somehow different than everything else on this earth, but this whole superior complex is ridiculous. If anything else changes so can we, i mean in the bible goliath was only 6 foot 3 or so, and he was the biggest person between at least two nations at that time. Nowadays it's hard to walk through a convinience store and not see at least one person that tall or taller. Every old skeleton that is unburied is considerably smaller than the skeletons of people nowadays, that's undeniable fact as well. So people have EVOLVED and grew on average nearly a foot due to better nourishment which changed out genetic structure. We're no different than anything else.

And finally, if you've been reading this, which i doubt many will, and you're sitting there thinking "oh he believes in evolution, he doesn't believe in a God", i do. The only difference is i believe in a more magnificent God. I believe that God in one moment of time: started the universe in the big bang, knowing that earth would be created, knowing that just the right combination of chemicals would come together to create life on earth in time, and that over millions and billions of years all of this would evolve into a marvelous and miraculous world. You're basically belittling God by sitting there saying that he had to create everything just as it is. Why the hell couldn't he (i say he even though i believe God is without gender, and is not at all a person or anything like it, and is in fact just a great spirit behind the world, but everyone likes to call him he for some reason) create the world that evolution can prove, at least in all presented cases? Why couldn't have God intended the world to evolve like it does? And finally, why do so many people have such a hard time openning their eyes and realizing that since, in their own words, "God can do anything", then he could create evolution just like everything else, and that evolution and God have absolutely no reason to conflict.

Well if you took the time to read all of that i hope you got something from it. I don't expect everyone to agree with me just because i took the time to write this, but hopefully you'll at least have another perspective on things. Please feel free to comment with whatever you have to say about it ^_^
