Beware the Belly Button People!
So instead of our normal gaming tonight, we all went to a reading/writing program for iamnikchick's daughter. All of the kids got up on stage and read something that they had written.
I've done my fair share of public speaking (e.g. book readings, developer conference talks) and I know how challenging it can be. Imagining doing it at age 9 or less...I'm just not sure I could have easily stood in front of a bunch of adults and talked it up.
Kate did a great job - enunciation and cadence were both very good!
Some of the kids were definitely "extroverted" - hamming it up at the mic!
We learned of the horrors of the pencil-snatchers, created from good ideas never developed, lost within the walls.
We learned of the ugly chicken, which took time off in Nevada and other places.
And we learned of the unusual belly button people.
