Bridawg took our team out to lunch today to celebrate the hard work and somewhat-success of our latest product release. Not being terribly familiar with fine cuisine of San Francisco, he asked me for suggestions. Not being terribly familiar with fine cuisine of San Francisco, I asked
opentable.com. We quickly settled on
Sens, a rustic restaurant in the Embarcadero Center.
Interestingly, I also discovered the difference between a good upscale restaurant and a great upscale restaurant: the attention to detail. One of our party was a strict vegetarian, including no eggs. The waiter served us bread, and our compatriot asked him if there were eggs in it. We also ordered the flatbread appetizer, and again he asked if there were eggs in it. Then, at the entree, he had to ask again if one of the dishes had eggs in it. Now granted that this was at lunch and so the B-Team staff might have been on duty, but a waiter at a great upscale restaurant would've picked up the theme and asked the cook for which dishes had eggs.
Still, the food was delightful. I especially recommend the lamb riblets (rack of lamb cut into individual ribs) and the chicken wrap.
My chorus had its last rehearsal before contest this weekend. I don't know if we're as ready as we want to be, but we have some fire in our bellies. We know we have a job to do. I hope we do what we're capable of.
