Iron Man
The Vegas Four, a.k.a. BriDawg, Edouardinho, the Mad #@$!ing Hungarian, and I, went to see Iron Man after work today. Since it was Edouardinho's first day of (long-deserved and much needed) vacation, he made a special trip into the city to see it with us. (The 15-second review: It was a good movie, but we all would've liked a better villain.)
We went to Buca di Beppo for dinner, and in effect, stuffed ourselves stupid on calamari, fried mozzarella, veal parmesan, pizza, and the Dolce Platter:
That's right, boys and girls: apple pie, cheesecake, chocolate cake and tiramisu (hidden behind the hand). The plate itself was two and a half feet long - really. We managed to get through about two thirds of this mountain of delight before succumbing to the Itis.
It was also a good night for signs. I have no idea what Sexpress or Sefficiency is, but it caught my eye...
And if you're going to open a soup kitchen, you might as well be passionate about it...
Finally, this was an interesting series of paintings on the wall of the Metreon food court. Apparently, food courts and public eateries are going upscale!
In other news, we finally completed the fourth (and hopefully final) release candidate (RC4). This has been a remarkably painful release, going 6 weeks beyond the end of the project. The term "death march" comes to mind... But if this RC is good enough, we might be able to move on to better things shortly!
