Furry con #2 for me, fursuiting adventure #3 (Tekkoshocon being the first)
What a fun ass time!
So, it starts out EARLY Thursday morning. topher_fox after having worked all night, drives 3 hours or so from his place to mine. We load up the Cobalt, but unfortunately only Codexsuit will fit, Didge is gonna have to wait till AC or possibly RMFC to make his appearance ;_; Then comes the drive.... and drive.... and drive...
Welcome to Ohio! Nothing to see here!
4 hours to cross Ohio, land of nothing, and a $10.25 toll for all that lovely non-scenery. As soon as you cross the line into Indiana, you at least get rolling hills and more interesting sights. Passing through Gary, Indiana is quite depressing. Way to kill an entire regions economy in the name of cheaper costs GM *golfclaps*. Finally we hit the Skyway and see the big town.. Chicago!
Quite an impressive city, and lots of archetectural sights, I definitely have to hit this town sometime with my camera and no furcon to steal my time. After some crazy city driving, we hit the con...
The venue was pretty good, my only complaint was congestion. It was hard to move around freely unless you went outside but at least it was nice and cold out for suiting. Topher went and got his room stuff situated, and I waited for my roomies at the overflow hotel, ajfox and warskunk . While that happened, I met up with nevermint to drop my suit stuff of in his room, also got to meet and talk old videogames with stria_inbiri while there, that was amusing :P As it turns out the roomies had a GIANT Chevy Tahoe, so after seeing that and figuring out that my suit would easily fit in there, I decided that I would suit up at the car so as not to inconvienence minty and friends when they might be busy with suiting and congoing themselves. Once again thanks for the roomspace while I used it! Ran into aerofox and loriana and got in line with them to register. That process was pretty damn fast and then it was off to find foods.
After Torran and Warskunk showed up, we all got our 5 dolla footlong on, and I came back and suited up for a little while, I really have a bad time of remembering things that happen while I'm in suit, so all I know is that I ran back into Lori and ran into baconcoyote who was waiting for hegdish ,drakeduck , and alphilonius to get down from Wisconsin, and of COURSE, I miss them by like 2 minutes because I couldn't tell where Bacon went :P Ah well, thats what Friday is for...
SLEEEEEP
For some reason I can remember Thursday, but the rest of the weekend blurs horribly. Maybe it was the lack of sleep, maybe the obcene amount of time I was in suit (like 26 hours total), maybe I need more St. John's Wart or something, I dunno. So the rest of the post is based on events and not timelines.
I finally got to meet goggremlin , really, there was no way to prepare for that... He's a crazy awesome and interesting dude, and Its cool to finally get to BS with him, not to mention the fact that I downloaded Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes because of like 20 mins of footage he showed me of AtoA, cinematography FTW. It was also his birthday at the con, so....
khyle had to make with the birthday spankage! Khyle is too awesome, and it was awesome to talk to him too. He can spin poi like a man possessed and is quite the stylish dresser :P Hes also the cause of the most epic pic I got at the con...

Hegdish and Drake... You 2 were great and it was so good to finally meet in person after all the IM convos! Hanging out back at your room and coming up with such gems as the "Reverse Hitler" was a highlight of my trip! That and getting to suit with the both of you, who are just so amazing and expressive at it. I hope that someday I can get in that headspace and actually "become" the character. *hugs*... and Drake... WHERES THE AC/MFF CONPOST and the DUCKSUIT!! (god I love fucking with him :P)
Alphi, Bacon, and phoxtayl (aka Honest Abe) were great to talk to as well ^_^ and I hope we can talk more in the future! Enjoy the bacon mints :P
Torran and Warskunk were AMAZING roommates! It was quiet when it needed to be, and was HILARIOUS all other times :P The sheer amount of comedy was astounding.... MY BIRDS!!! It was great getting to hang out with you 2 for most of the con ^_^
Getting to suit for a little bit with Aero and Loriana, THAT was a highlight, as it was their site so many years ago I stumbled upon that sent me down the road to fursuiting and such *hugs* This picture means alot to me.
Met Hazel, paraesthesia , and privatepony all who hang in luskwood at times. I'm sorry that you didn't get to gaze upon the holy bounty that is my face because I was in suit so much Hazel, but you really aren't missing a damn thing. Also Para was quite hilarious and fun to hang with for the small time we did ^_^
Got to talk a bit with tastyeagle and crocodile . Croc next time you let Avery out to play, make sure he actually gets to sample the Pabst before he puts the empty box on his noggin :P And Caspian constantly inspires me to try to make/get an avian suit of some kind, because they are just too awesome ^_^
Finally met diadexxus and brokkentwolf , Brokken's website was one of the first I found way back in the day that steered me to furry stuffs so meeting him was a great honor ^_^ And I had to get a hug from Dia for helping me find the green fur that made Codex happen. I hope to see you both again sometime soon!
I did the fursuit charades with Drake which was really fun! It felt good to break out of the shell a bit and be forced to communicate only with actions, I really need to practice that more and more when I can. I would love to just be able to do that naturally.
I helped out at the fursuit figure drawing panel that film2edit was running, Chilly had me do the Buddy Christ pose for a bit, which was damn funny, then later Nevermint as Jager and I did the ULTIMATE POWER RANGERS POSE... for 10 minutes. My arms hurt SOOOO bad but it was totally worth it :P I would love to see some of the sketches from that panel.
The FIRE ALARM thing happened. I happened to be up on the 7th floor chillin at heg and drakes room, and was still in suit, just with the head and hands off. So that was a 7 flight trip down the stairs in suit, and then out into the cold. The only positive thing about it was that I came across Chilly who was QUITE cold out there and she used my overproduction of body heat in suit like a little living space heater :3 *salutes* glad I could help the cause!
Did the parade of course, ALMOST didn't get there in time due to getting up too late and trying to get some breakfast. But it all worked out ok in the end and I marched the march right on time :P
Sunday I ran into Edmund, so of course I needed a picture...
I mean DUH!! Who could pass up a pic with a cute purple skunk in a svelte scarf :P
Talked briefly with nerfcoyote and watched him participate in IRON ARTIST!!

Got to talk with evil_spork in the headless for a while, lusky bastard took Mannheim the Talbuk to Blizzcon. I still geek out about that suit, its just sooooo awesome and he's alot of fun too!
I'm sure I missed people and things at the con, but cons tend to be such a blur for me that I have a hard time remembering things. I really need to write down things that happen at the end of the day and save them for posts like this.
Anywho, the trip home was pretty boring... until...
Somebody cut us off on the highway while we were crusing along pretty well. There was an exchange of horn and lights, then it ended up with Topher tailgating them for a few miles. They back off and we think its over... The some phantom road debris knocks out his one grill on the front bumper. We stop at the next reststop and meet up with skippyfox and silentwolf59 who we were actively trying to catch up to essentially to see if we could. Topher starts telling them what happened and the dude in front of us turns around and says "Oh that was you guys? Sorry my bad.".... It was epic and we all immediately felt like huge tools. Turns out the guy was also a congoer, so that reststop like, got furry all of a sudden. wrxrevenent ended up stopping by and we all sat there for an hour and a half just bullshitting and laughing our asses off. Things like amish craigslist, and meth barns. At one point I think that swift_fox was even there for a brief second. It was kind of amazing.
We all then split up on our seperate ways and headed home. Topher was an awesome pilot, and I'd be his wingman again anyday.
So thats it! It was super funtimes and chill as hell. None of the crazy running I did at AC to keep groups together. So either RMFC or AC will be my next furcon, and Tekkoshocon will be the next convention period. Im not doing any new suits I think for myself for Tekko. It's just not gonna be worth it if I'm making projects for others in the meantime.
