"You can't be depressed if you have nothing to be sad about."

The most common thought I have when I'm feeling depressed - when the wet blanket covers my thoughts and there's an omnipresent feeling of despair and hopelessness - is "Why am I upset? There's NOTHING WRONG. What is wrong with you?"

And I DO take medication. It would be much worse if I didn't. This myth is damaging and distinctly untrue. That is generally the exact problem - there is NOTHING to be upset about. But you are, anyway, and there's not much you can do about it.
