If I may... anonymous November 2 2003, 10:08:12 UTC
You know, there are some cultures which believe that dreams have powers of clairvoyance; others believe that they are windows into the past. I myself believe that they are symbolic expressions of the present, and have emerged from pondering with a working theory.

The monster-obviously, since you said he was there to kill, it seems to represent some impending fate for you. You said he was invisible; could this be something on the horizon in your life, something you know is present but can't quite put your finger on?

The store's valued customers :-) -To me, they seem to represent the people in your life that would have otherwise helped you escape this monster of yours, but put their own well-being in jeopardy in so doing. Perhaps they are friends, mere acquaintances, but they fall away from you in any case.

The store's items- Aside from the people in the store, you also had resources of your own with which to fight the threat. I see these as your own emotions or thoughts, but I'm a bit sketchy on that...

The "fan man" - You had a shot at overcoming this threat, and it seems to me that someone there-someone in your environment-came close to helping you do it. It might help you to ponder who this was meant to represent, because if the monster's representation is true, then this person who valued you enough to help with your escape could serve the same purpose in reality.

As for all the gore, ?? I'm not sure how you feel about said gore, but I equate its significance in the dream to the significance of
the loss of people in your life who are of the most use to you. I draw a connection between the kinds of inner pain felt in both situations.

Well, I suppose those are all the thoughts I
have on the matter; if I have more, you'll hear them I'm sure.

Maybe I'm right, maybe you just have some very strange dreams. I myself had fairly disturbing dreams when I was a child, so I'm glad I no longer have the luxury of dreaming.

Sorry for the lenght of this post; I'd tell you to bite me, but nah...

Warmest regards,
mini
