Shipping Fail
So I mentioned 23andme in an earlier post, and I ended up ordering my kit! I was checking the tracking information on fedex, where I saw this:
WTF, FedEx, is this for real? The package went from Sunnyvale to Oakland then to MEMPHIS so it could be flown back to Oakland for a delivery to Mountain View?! What?? For those not in the Bay Area, Mountain View and Sunnyvale border each other. The delivery address is a mile from Sunnyvale.
maps.google.com puts the round trip (driving) of my package at 4230 miles.
If the 23andme.com people are still listening, it'd be cool if you offer a local pick up option as well. While I'm sure I'm getting my $19.90 worth of shipping that I paid, I feel like someone lost a ton of carbon credits.
(UPDATE 12/22: Aha, the package was delivered this morning, despite the Dec 24th date estimated on their site. Still...FedEx fail.)
