Anyone ever heard of Ben Lee?
I was listening to an episode of This American Life and they played this song of a kid singing a evan dando song, and I liked it. So I did some research on the internets to find that it was this guy Ben Lee as a kid. So I checked out some of his new music. It was all trite and ...top 40ish. I realized he sang that "Catch My Disease" song.
But I'm reading these things like "toured with sebadoh" and mentions of "thurston moore" and "beastie boys". So I figure it's two people with the same name. I listen to this album from 1994, Grandpaw Would. Sounded pretty good, made some sense.
But no. They're the same person. I don't know why I even care, or why I would even write something about it. But I just find it so hard to believe that someone could make such a turn...
It seems he's done stuff with Ben Folds. Maybe that was the beginning of his demise. I miss the old Ben Folds.
