This post comes to you from my blackberry curve 8900. This isn't the first time I've posted an entry from a mobile device but it's definitely the best so far.
The coolest thing about a BB is the keyboard, of course. Maybe it's a matter of personal preferences, but I don't think QWERTY touch pads are my thing. I need tactile feedback while typing. The BB keypad is the most awesome QWERTY that I've ever used!
From the ambient light sensitive keys that let me type in the dark cab to the contours that ensure I don't miss a keypress, the keypad is enough to redeem a BlackBerry's price. We haven't even started with the numerous, unobtrusive ways in which the editor software helps long typing.
The screen is another solid performer. It's large and very high res. Easily the best among non-touchscreen phones. The music player is highly capable too. It's serving as my primary music source at work.
I still haven't got around to setting up email on the device yet. I got Google maps on it and they've turned out to be very disappointing. They're slower and less accurate than Nokia maps. FWIW, the iPhone has the same map software.
All in all, this baby has turned out to be a good purchase after a long time. Must stop writing now as I'm almost home. Will post more stuff once I get a better Maps application and email set up on it.
