Warning: included some major spoiler. So I strongly recommend that if you're not a fan of major spoilers avoid this entry at all costs. I'm surprised the magazine went ahead and gave out something so big.
Haha oh wow. That's pretty whacky, there, though the magazines gave away Euphie's death before it happened too.
I was wondering what they'd do with Shirley, actually, because in pulling the same trick they did last season around this point, they basically signed themselves up for either having to up the ante on it, or to fail utterly by reusing the same plot but with Orange or VV replacing Mao, and that's just cheap and lame.
The only thing I really thought they could do, and still keep up the sort of constant raising of tension that they've been going for, was to kill her. So I'm not entirely surprised. And given how the love triangle was deepening so quickly, they needed a way to start resolving it. I'm just more surprised at the "information from Jeremiah" part. Does that mean Orange is working with him? Or that he said it under coercion or force or accidentally.

I'm going to take a wild guess that the Geass canceler's dispel effect also allows Lelouch to Geass the person again, seeing as one of the things we see when Shirley is de-Geassed is a reverse of the rotating circuit animation (which I presume is supposed to represent brain wiring.) So he'll probably just Geass the information out of Orange, who has obviously been exposed to the effect before.
... that's amazing. I wish I'd realized that. \o/ Now that's a completely contrived (not that I expect any less from Geass anymore) but still kind of awesome plot twist. It's also going to really screw with any fans who are actively trying to keep track of all the geasses on people. xD
Personally, I was thinking that after losing her dad to Zero, finding out who he was, getting mindraped, finding out who he was again, getting mindraped again, and then finally finding out yet again, she was safe from dying because, wow, what a way to kick someone when they're down. But I guess I underestimated Taniguchi's sadism, haha.
I actually thought that she was gonna trigger the spilling of the beans and that Lelouch would have to kidnap her and make her join his harem or something.
I knew this was coming. The part of Shirley dying was so clear to me. She would have been the girl Lelouch ends up with, if he were normal. But since he's not, maybe it's just going to be him or C.C. and himself.
*shrugs*
I'm not a big fan of Shirley, but props to finding this information that has become a confirmation of my speculation.
