Wow, I just got back from am epic 7 day road trip with Pat Ryan, Spencer, and Sara. I will have to update more later, but I'm exhuasted and hung over. So to sum this up (and leaving TONS of our stories out, which I will write later) it went as thus:
Saturday January 3rd: Methuen, MA and Marshfield, MA
Head down to Marshfield, MA to what I expect is only to work on music ideas with Pat. Well it turns out Pat wants to head to Rhode Island soon, and then to the recording studio in Conneticut... so now i have on change of clothes for this journy. Sara has the clothes on her back. The day is spent hanging out with Pat, Sara, and Lauren. Went to a semi-party/fire over at Monique's place. Then worked on music all night
Sunday January 4th: Marshfield, MA
Still at Pat's house. Me and Pat work on more music, but quickily get distracted by trying to invent ideas that will get us rich quick. Sadly later we find out that most of our ideas, as original as they sound, were all ready made. Oh well, we decide that alcohol will make us think better. Drink from 2:30pm-ish to 2am. Much Disney singing.
Monday January 5th: Marshfield, MA, Milford, MA and Wakefield, RI
All three of us are wicked slow moving, we meant to get Spencer in the morning... we arrive at his house in Milford aronud 5pm... lol. We then drive to Wakefield, RI to stay the night at Sara's crazy "uncle" bob and martha's house. He's a friend of Sara's family. He's wicked cool. He's a super super hippy. He owns his own company and pretty rich. He's apparently cloes to 70 years old, but this guy looks 30 but with slightly grey hair. This is what happens when you eat right and do yoga all the time. I'll have to write more about bob later. Anyhoo, he gives us this crazy hippie water that is apparently better than normal water for you. He has an electrolysis machine that pumps out water at pH 9.3 HOLY CRAP, thats almost too basic to put down the drains in Emmanuel laboratories. But we drink 3 liters of it lol. It produces a slight euphoric effect... probably not good. But it did strangely cure my asthma attack in the middle of the night. It only last 35 minutes compared to the last one i had that took 7 hours to go away on its own without an inhaler.
We eat organic food thats delcious, drink the crazy hippie water, and jam in their living room. They go to bed around 11 and we stay up to 1:30 sipping on Rum and hanging out.
Tuesday January 6th: Wakefield, RI and Hamden, CT
We "woke up" aka got woken up at 11:45am because Martha isn't use to having kids in her house (they've never had kids). We get our shit together, and decided that its good idea to get moving because an ice storm is coming and we want to make sure we will get to the recording studio. We decide that we want to go on a walk before we go though. Bob suggests that we walk around in the closed boy scout camp across the street (the gate only looked locked, it really wasn't). So we find this beautiful froze wonderland! So we decided to finish off the rum. LOL. So now we spend the whole day drunk in Wakefield without any idea of where we are staying the night. But it was wonderful. We were still drunk when the sun started setting so we all sat in the backseat of the car and watched The Dark Knight to sober up lol. Basically, its now like 6pm its dark, we have no place to sleep, we are in the middle of Rhode Island, and their is an impending ice storm. Go us. We call Emily Rose and Piedra but both places but ER is in boston and Piedra's is too small. So... who else do we know. MAGGIE! I call Maggie and she is happy to have us over... except she wont be there. lol. So we spend the night with Maggie's mom... WHO IS THE MOST AWESOMEST MOM EVER! She's so nice and wicked chill. It was so much fun hanging out in the Simmon household. Me, Pat, Spence, and Sara stay up until 3ish and 'work' on music. lol.
Wednesday January 7th: Hamden, CT and Shelton, CT
We depart the Simmon house after delicious tea and oatmeal. After showers and launderd clothes we are off. We get to the recording studio at exactly 5:15pm. This is the most subduded part of the trip. We have dinner (8 people around a tiny table with three dogs and two cats) Pasta (as we had at literally EVERY stop on our road trip, people just assume to make pasta for a large ground of people lol). Then we get down two songs in the course of the evening. Sara's song which Pat has named "Ain't No Road". Quite and awesome song, Sara wrote it in like 5 seconds at Pat's house. The song is the very definition of "musical hook". We also get down the "Chem Song" which Pat and Sara wrote about how they suffered through Dr. Gerdon's chemistry class. At 9:30 Jake (the studio guy) is done and we spend the rest of the night "finishing our song"... which we don't do lol. Instead we drink a few beers, and we all huddle in the recording booth because apparently after 5 days together we can't stand to be apart. lol.
Thursday January 8th: Shelton, CT and Westerly, RI
This is the most hectic day. During the course of the night, at around 1am, whilst i was taking care of a crazed out of her mind Sara, Spencer and Pat composed a folk song that spencer wrote the lyrics for. Sounds a lot like The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Very cool sounding song. Very unusual chord progression: A, Em, F, C, Dm. We were so scared of being in the studio because we thought we were going to suck and look like assholes for not having any music done, but somehow we ended up with three very good songs and due to mine and spencer's previous studio experience we sounded like a very tight band. After the tracks are bounced to disk we head out for a errand full day. We get lost trying to get back to Maggie's because Pat left his coat there. After like an hour of driving or more, we find Maggie's house again. But before that, whilst lost we found the most epic abandoned factory. Boards broke under Sara's feet and she fell up to her knee into a basement, luckily she grabbed onto Spencer. Our near death experience for the trip lol. We get lost again trying to find our way to Sara's grandmother's house so she can pick up her sister's medicine. We finally get there, go on the errand to get the medicine. Then now we have to find out way to Westerly, RI to visit the one and only Emily Rose Sullivan. YAY. We finally get to her place around 8pm. And we have so much pent up energy! We eat her out of house and home and practically demolish her house. Me, Pat, and Spencer we very excited because we naked in Emily Rose's house YAY (showers that is). Hung out at night, I finally get a good nights sleep.
Friday January 9th: Westerly, RI, Milford, MA, Kingston, MA, Marshfield, MA, and Jamaica Plain, MA
We leave Emily Rose's around 5pm after eating more food and laundering our clothes. We drop Spence off at his house (we are now lonely and a broken family). Drive to Kingston to get Ryan Murphy, drive to Marshfield to drop off some of Pat's stuff at his house, then drive to JP to go to Moira's birthday party! Spencer meets us there after taking the train in (he has to go home to clean himself up for a job interview he has tomorrow). Much drinking and frivolity, but a night is never complete without drama! Drama is resolved, and we all crash after having what i considered a good time.
Saturday January 10th: Jamaica Plain, MA The Fenway and Methuen, MA
We wake up early and hung over fearing an incoming snow storm (which still hasn't hit, thank you weather channel). Ryan and Spence stay at Moira's. Me, Sara, and Pat pick up Sara's meds at RiteAide and have lunch at Subway (btw, every time we eat at a restaurant it is an Emmanuel-esque situation where it takes hours). We drop Pat off at Kenmore Station. Sara and I proceed to drive me home. Thus concludes our epic road trip. This is just the basics, there are tons of stories and lots of insanity that probably can't be captured well here in LJ.
