It's been month since i last write lol
So, our band is aiming for national tournament (GPMB).
And last week, we took participation in a local tournament -> Piala Raja Hamengkubuwono (HB Cup for short) as a "try-out".
Since it was announced, i got kinda anxious.
I will never take it as "try-out", since it will be a REAL situation.
The last week before the tournament day, we practiced a lot harder.
And for the first time, we runthrough the show.
It was tiring, but i'm glad i can memorize all the display dots and visuals.
Better than exp
And when it's befoected.
re D-Day,
We went to the venue for a test field and arrived at 9 P.M.
In my expectation, there will be a lot of band that'll also warming up.
But not much were there lol.
It was also announced on the committee's official account that
we will only have 2 rivals in our category
When i knew that, i feel kinda relieved since even if we ranked last, we still got to be in the Top 3 right
At the same time, it'll also be shameful.
I tried not to think about the results and just give my best.
We practised until 12 A.M. then we did field test
field test was from 1-3. In the midnight.
I swear the field test was one of my worst experience.
The atmosphere was really tense.
We were forced to move fast,
Some people were already watching, i got kinda nervous.
The floor is new to us.
We were wearing shoes we never use before.
It was SO HOT INSIDE.
It was tiring.
i was so thirsty fuck i wanted to cry
We got 1 water break in 3 hours span.
We finished at 3.
Had evaluation, packed up, then went to basecamp
i went to sleep without taking a shower.
WHO CARES.
i got around 3 hours of sleep, and then went for Street Parade category.
FYI, we hade more rivals in this category. There were 10 entries.
I kinda feel down when arriving.
Everyone is warming up in a full set costume.
Meanwhile,
Our dresscode was not costume, but "beach themed" costume.
It looks like we kinda taking it easy and mocking every other bands lol.
We even played this year's JMD song, a song which half of the population of marching band players in Jogja know.
And warming up was brief.
We are not taking it seriously and i didn't feel tense at all.
(just sleepy).
Our band didn't aim for Street Parade, so we kinda did it casually.
Then the street parade starts.
It was fun.
The last time i did Street Parade was last year, and it feels the same.
There were so many people crowded along the Malioboro street,
waving at us, recording and taking pictures.
But still,
It looked clear we didn't take the Street Parade seriously lol
The next day, the announcement was out.
Even when we didn't take it seriously, we got ranked 5th .
I don't think we deserved it at all lol
Maybe our concept were really entertaining?
