Meeting with groink!
So I finally got to meet the famous groink on Saturday night at Tokyo Tei and it turned out a lot better than I thought. Even though I was nervous at first, when I got to talking with him about Jdramas, Jpop, and the like, it quickly disappeared because these topics are things I feel really comfortable with talking about. It was really new to me to talk to someone I can relate to about all sorts of J-related things. Most of the people where I live aren't into that stuff. It only seems like the older people are into those types of programs, and they only know KIKU or NGN shows, not the newer stuff. And definitely not the Jpop.
We got on the topic of certain dramas. Even though he's a huge Sakai Noriko fan and likes dark dramas, he has never seen Zoku Hoshi no Kinka! Hello??!! I told him that he needs to watch it because it's got both of his faves covered. Hopefully he'll listen to my advice one of these months/years/decades.
He also mentioned that the girls on the new NGN asadora series "Dan Dan" were in a previous asadora that Sabu-chan really liked called "Futarikko," so I'm going to try getting that drama. Man, this makes me wish that I subscribed to NGN because they're the only ones who air the asadora stuff here.
At one point there was a song playing at the restaurant and he started singing along, which amused me. Unfortunately, I can't remember what song it was.
groink also gave me some goodies, which I was thrilled to get. ^_^ I hope he and his family like what I gave them and that it helped combat the evil Superferry.
We talked for about 2 hours or so in the restaurant. After that, he showed me his karaoke book which had lyrics in romaji for his karaoke outings with his buddies. He actually had a lyric that I romanized and it made me feel proud and made me want to start working on my site again. Am I going to any time soon? I have no idea because I'm in Jdrama mode.
