i like to take advantage of a flock of wild birds
i'm back from 3 days in Berkeley!
we go up every year for my dad's bands annual reunion. this year one of the band members was having some sort of personal issue, so the reunion was cancelled, but we drove up anyway to stay with Aunt Nadine & Uncle David! we were on the road by 4 or so on Friday, and we got there at 11. everyone was waiting up for us (even Lena!) so they could say hi and help us unpack, but as soon as that was all done we went straight to bed.
Saturday we woke up and had crepes; then we went out for lunch later in the day. and after lunch i got CINNAMON GELATO! my favorite! i went to a small gelato place once a few years ago and i fell in love with it, and i've been looking for it ever since. i can never find cinnamon. it's so delicious, if you see that flavor at a gelato place, get it. or at least try it.
anyway, that was about all we did on Saturday. Sunday, though, was more eventful. we woke up, had breakfast, then went to the Botanical Gardens! it's nearing winter, so there wasn't much to see, but we still had a good time. after that, we went for lunch at the Berkeley Bowl. (a public market) then we headed home to rest for a few hours. at 3, Uncle David took Michael and Noam to see some movie; and Aunt Nadine took me and Lena to see Paper Heart! (i've been dying to see it, but it's not playing anywhere near me) it was a bit slow and boring at parts, but i thought it was adorable. after the movies, we headed home. a few hours later, we all went to The Counter for dinner. so so so good.
that's about it. we went to bed early. anyway... Monday we got up at 5:50, said bye to everyone, then got on the road. we ended up home at 1. and now things are back to normal.
school has started again. i'm not excited about having to start school again. at all.
