Poems for English

Mar 16, 2005 17:35

Well I had to write a couple poems for English yesterday and I think they came out rather well, so that's why Im posting them here. Though, they were modeled after other poems that we read in class :\ ("We wear the Mask" and Richard Corey")That was the assignment. My poems still have my style of writing though of course...>.> and only people who have read my other poems would know...and I dont think any of you have XD Well yeah...Im going to dig up my poems and post them here ok? Ok. When I get unlazy that is >.> Anyways....enjoy? O.o

To all, she looked content with glee,
Always walking her way merrily.
Little did they all know
This silent soul contained a world of sorrow.

Beneath the layers of artificial energy
Was a surge of apathy.
Silently she would carry on the day
Wearing the mask of false serenity.

No one knew the pain she felt
From the hardships of her everyday life.
She had no warmth inside herself,
Only sadness and despair.
Trust to give to no one else
Only all that she would bare,
Hidden behind a smiling mask of false serenity.

I think this second one is kinda dumb...that's because we had to write as if we're the guy in the poem...and in the original poem the guy commited suicide so yeah...

By habit I walk down the street bidding everyone a good day.
Observing the populace I take note of all I see,
And in my observations I find to my dismay
Everyone is happy but me.

They do not notice in all their shallowness
That I am not what they want to be.
I may have manners and feign my happiness,
But they seem smarter, though dressed poorly.

They have gone to school, but perhaps lacked the leadership to move on.
Though, they have succeeded in creating families,
Having friends who can be leaned upon,
And establishing strong ties with many entities.

I do not have any of that
I live alone from mistakes I have made
In turn I find enemies where I am at,
Walking, I contemplate a meaning for me to stay
