'you're my safest place to hide'

Casey showed up around 6 last night... I finished getting ready while he talked online a little bit. Mom and Jim got home. I went and blew out my candles and we ate cheesecake, I opened things from my grab bag of presents... got a bunch of movies and CDs I wanted plus a gift card for Barnes & Nobles *yesss* Aaaaaand then they pulled the sheet away and underneath was a big box... my new stereo! It's not the one I had picked out so I was sorta disappointed till later. But the cheesecake was good! Haha and we listened to some Everly Brothers and brought back a few memories from childhood.

At 7, Casey and I left but he wouldn't tell me where we were going. He let me bring my new Backstreet Boys CD though so we listened to that on the way. When I walked out to the car I looked in and saw a picture thing he had made out of four pictures for me... it's so cool looking! We made our way to Seattle and ended up at a park by the beach down by the Vashon ferry. We had a picnic in a field thing off a trail and we could see the water, it was really pretty. After we finished eating we went walking on the trails and took tons of pretty pictures of the trees and the water and everything. We ran into an older couple resting on a bench and they were really nice :) We found the beach trail and went down it... it reminded me so much of my dad and all the hikes we've gone on in the past. We finally got down to the beach and Casey climbed up a tree so I could take his picture.. while he was up there an old man walked by and came over to me and asked if Casey knew it was poison oak haha. He was fine though, at least last night he was! I took a bunch more pictures of the water and the setting sun and fun things like that, and then we started heading back for the car. We left around 9 or 9:30.

We listened to the Backstreet Boys again in the car and I briefly talked to Casey about stuff it made me feel... he didn't want me to think about it I guess which made me feel worse but I eventually stopped thinking about it too much and got over it *she always does...*. We drove under tunnels and held our breath and when I was young I used to make a wish at the same time... so I did again. It's a reasonable one, but it requires patience. *Sigh* I can do that.

We showed up back at Casey's house right at 10. I had no idea what we were doing there so he was just building my suspense up. His whole family said happy birthday, that was sweet. He told me it was a movie and he wouldn't let me look until it was past all the previews and everything and just ready to start. I sat down and it was Peter Pan! I was so excited, I still had never seen the cartoon version! Well I have now! :) I guess he was going to buy it and then give me my own copy after we finished watching it but apparently they don't sell it anymore. But oh well, it was awesome anyway.

Around 12 we decided to make our way back to my house. I played with my new stereo and decided it's really not as bad as I thought it was at first. It's actually really really nice. Casey and I had a talk and then he went home at like 1:30 or so. I set up the stereo in my room and played some more, set some things up and fell asleep to the Backstreet Boys.

My birthday was good. :)
