I was listening to this sometime just after Asylum & Home, and constructed a whole mental fanvid in my head to this, with plenty of shots of the grotty asylum, Home, (& drinking in pilot and Skin), and starting off with the general being haunted by Jess (& his Mom) but for the last section, flip some scenes into sepia and use them out of context as a 'I missed Dean when I left, too' kinda thing. *headdesk*
Sappy. But. Poor Sam. All his dreams go up in smoke.

The Dr going Emperor Palpatine on Sams head, possibly even the cell-phone call, then Wee!Dean holding baby-sam, then Sam threatening to shoot Dean, actually it's far too tempting to have it a mostly Asylum mental-vid, but I think it'd work better going across many episodes. Like the expression on Dean's face when Sam talks smack about his EMF reader. And, this was way, way before the finale so we are not going to that place when we get to the lines about roadkill, nuh uh. Think the end of Wendigo. Ooops, ok, so again I cheat, because kitsune_red was the one who originally pointed this out to me. Just, Sam as Dean's passenger, slightly wincesty vibe, but more importantly, the lack of control Sam has over his life, his destiny. What burned up at Stanford was Sam getting to choose his own future. I'd be angry.
I'm still pretty uncertain as to what Sam's musical tastes would be, except that I think he might like Radiohead *shrugs* (and he has Oasis hair... o_O Not gonna think about that!).
Oh, and that Dean would never, ever play it in the Impala.
There's at least one more song that makes me think of Sam, big time, so I reserve the right to add it, once I remember it.
