The Sun is Shining

Hello all.

Job Get

I have a job at last! Alright it isn't in the games/animation industries, but working in the Odeon cinema seems pretty awesome to me! :)
A toy shop followed by a cinema? Not doing too badly. My training day is this Thursday while I might be starting proper as early as Friday! It may not be in games, but given this blasted crisis we are in, this fills me with enthusiasm with the fact that my efforts have not been in vain and things are always possible.
It's not that I mind being on the Dole (in fact, part of me kinda liked it :P) but ultimately jobs inspire and focus my mind more, plus it looks better on a CV.
As far as I know, it is part-time, but Toys R Us was also part time and I got a new TV out of it :P So I think I'll be alright financially.

Creative Stuff

While last week was quite a dud, I don't know why... I was just really, really slow. But I think around Thursday/Friday I suddenly woke up again! So I've been sketching mostly. My book needs a bit more detail, so I've been ironing out characters. (and hopefully soon, ships and weapons)
Book itself has had more structure done and is around 40 pages now. I'm now desperately wanting rush ahead to reach "epic" moments, haha.
Been doing Maya work nowadays too which is nice to break up the painting with.

Formula 1

It's like the BBC is pumping out races very quickly! Still, I watched the re-run of the Chinese Grand Prix and amazingly enough, it was raining again! Hahah. The race wasn't cancelled fortunately, but you could barely see the cars :P They do seem to handle the rain better, apart from Lewis Hamilton (heehee) who kept spinning it - though to be fair, he was driving really well otherwise; taking very odd lines around corners faster... you know... through the water. Crashes, overtaking, not much KERS, Ferrari being idiots again, a rookie winning, overall it was pretty good! :)

Other things!

Today I got a cheque from the council giving me £107! =D Bwhaha. Apparently it was due to me overkilling my council tax benefits! I didn't think it was that much... money isn't overly hurting or anything... but still... sweet!
I bought another Eddie Izzard DVD off Play.com's marketplace, his Glorious DVD which is probably my third favourite. Though it turns out the seller is pawning off the slim dvds from the boxset for £10 each. Sneeeeaky.

I also found Oldboy at HMV for £5! *Immediate purchase* I've been hunting for this damn film for so long! It's either never in stock or is £15! It was my.... 3rd favourite film in 2006, behind Pan's Labyrinth and Casino Royale. So much happiness adding it to my collection.

Been playing waaaaay too much Mass Effect still. The game is just so huge; I keep finding new missions and assignments to do! Plus I just got awesome weapons... which pretty well mince everything with the right ammunition. Also cutscenes with my new "Renegade" character are hilarious; I pick all the negative responses, making him such a complete bastard lol

EDIT: There was also a new Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen preview clip released ;)

Right I have more character designs to do, more Maya to make, more aliens to shoot and two films to watch :)
