Gah.
Well yesterday was dire.
I figured I would call all - or as many as I could - the companies I sent CVs to as it had been rather a long time with no word back (well.. one did reply asking for more info).
First was Cohorts, who said it hadn't arrived..... uhhh... since about 2 weeks ago? That's not good. Most of the others had their key members busy at the time and gave me contact emails to follow up with (which I did).
Cohorts emailed back later to say my CV hadn't arrived... because there wasn't enough postage and they had to pay the rest to get it.
Oh joy.
That's a nice impression to make isn't it? A nice blunder; to force all eleven companies to pay money to see your work! I wish I was joking too... though even if I was, it wouldn't be funny anyway.
So, Cohorts is an automatic bust, and as for Blitz Studios (the company who did reply sharp-ish to the CV) they must have paid the extra... still not a good sign. I need to phone them up.
The others I assume laughed it off and didn't bother. Of course, my emails to them about "has it arrived?" may be a double foul on my part; it may make them investigate further and see the blunder like Cohorts did.
Soooooo, a bit crap. Seems like everything I try and do right is just digging the hole bigger. Anyway, with my tried and tested resolve tested even more, I'm sending the CV+work to the "silent" companies via email, and post again (PROPERLY) to the companies only taking post in hope they just discarded the last batch.
I knew I didn't like Summer.
